Rm10. Geoff Hurst scored a hat trick in the world.cup final, doubt Southgate will find space for him in the squad in qatar

No room for sentiment anymore. Our form in the league has been shocking since Christmas. We ate bang in redouble and my big issue with moyes is he won't change things up. At all. Ever.

Unless we've all missed something it's 2 top 7 finishes and 2 European tours RM.

But has given us 3 European tours unlike many other managers and top 7 for a few years and saved us from relegation twice, so I say cut him some slack!

We never target other teams weaknesses though do we, not under this guy.

He's more than happy to play 2 right backs to combat Grealish or change the formation of shape completely to get another defensive body in (throwing in Johnson for his first couple games, Downes new defensive attacking midfielder position, etc).

But when it comes to exploiting a bloke.not used to playing fullback or specifically making sure your 6"7 striker is supplied with high balls against the 5"7 centre back he's up against, not a single adjustment to the plan.

Rigid, regimented, boring.

I think that's the crux of it all. Moyes is just too negative.

I mean, look at Liverpool game, in Trent they have a PL player that has, arguably, had the biggest drop in form ever. And he's never really been the best defender anyway.

So what does Moyes do against Liverpool? Play Soucek left of midfield three and Fornals left of attacking three. Just simply mind blowing. I would've put Benny and Antonio out left and told them to go and rape him.

Moyes is just a boring, negative one-dimensional dinosaur who is proving us fans right week in and week out when we saw the cracks appearing at start of 2022.

Yep true. Only been in the game a couple of years though I guess and compared to what Moyes is producing after over 20 years in the management job, well!! As you say though time will tell.

Whilst we have the current owners he’s the best fit is the only reason…..the likes of Pochettino will want sufficient funds in the end which they will baulk on like Levy did when he was at Spurs….for some reason Moyes has them spending….

Zico, Vieira has spent about £200mil since he's been there, Roy was in CREDOLIT to something like the tune of £60mil. The football is a bit nicer (I wouldn't say it's that amazing) and they are... Mid table, just like they were under Roy.

I really think everyone is going way over the top on him. Let's judge it at the end of the season. He's done nothing special so far in his management career.

zico 5:58 Mon Nov 7
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread
Have to say though Vieira for a young inexperienced manager is doing a great job there. Taking it from a boring, defensive unit under Woy (sounds familiar!) and turning them into an attacking outfit. Being honest if they had someone to take their chances in the way of a top-class striker, they would have been out of sigh yesterday and would have probably won a lot more games. Can't stand Zaha's antics at times but he is a good player and we have to ask ourselves why a player like Eze chose to go to Palace rather than West Ham.

How the fuck can a team that has won six home games in a row, set up against a team without an away win in 6 months not a goal since August, and sit deep and let them have the ball and do what the fuck they like with it, by standing off them.

We made them look great.

Still fuming about that display

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread
Why do people say things like “I don’t want him sacked” and someone still said to me yesterday “well he still has credit in the bank”.
This is an oft by now tired phrase that some dickhead thought off that got adopted into the mainstream among those that felt we owe him something. I think the bloke that thought this up deserves a smack across the face with a wet kipper.
And that’s because it doesn’t matter how you
gussy it up the simple facts are he cannot take us any further. Those that still advocate for him don’t get that. Either that or they are just content with a level of mediocrity just as many were that used to argue about not letting Fat Sam go. The difference between now and then is that we have evolved into a much bigger club with far more capital divesture and far bigger ambition and aspirations.
And now it’s becoming more plain to see that it’s more than just dour tactics - it is the tendency to indeed gravitate toward a more
one dimensional player. He for sure does not take to flair players as has been alluded to on here. To use just one example this is why Soucek is still being trotted out in the line up.
He does not have what is required in his basic football acumen and or DNA. A simple analogy is if we were an airline we’d still be using the 747 the old tried and true workhorse when the more successful companies now have Dreamliners. We need to move to that next level to go anywhere. We have all the other features- using the same example a brand new airport - 62,000 people going through it per day. It is NOT going to happen with this dude.
Then there are those that keep saying “well who is available to replace him”. Frankly there are many who can do a much better job and with the firepower we now have available we don’t really need a big name tactical genius - we just need someone with the ability and nous to blend it all together - and that is again no difficult task given the resources we now have.
Eventually the owners have to act - it’s just a question of time and/or how drawn out a process it needs to be. The further downside is that his ongoing presence at the helm could I firmly believe result in Declan doing the off. If
fans are starting now to get frustrated en masse with the situation then you can bet he is. That’s why it’s essential the act as quickly as possible - they very well may draw this out per usual.

Tomshardware - give me more than maybe a handful of decent performances this calendar year when Antonio looked like a premier league player.

What he has done in the past is well in the past.

The way he has played recently he wouldn’t get back in the Tooting and Mitcham side.

I’ve praised him lots over the years, always liked him but he is so far off it it’s untrue.

Only way we get any sort of value is if he is used as an impact sub on the wing.

He’ll shin a few more in before he retires and have a few bulldozing halves of football but he is not of premier league level anymore.

Antonio not a premier league player? 50 odd goals isn't bad then.

Moyes had a pop at a reporter the other week and did that nervous beavis and butthead chuckle, now he’s having a pop at ‘knowledgeable’ fans. He’s under pressure and it’s starting to show. Every quote about how many games we’ve won/lost and he includes European results as he know they mask how poor our form is when looking at just the premier league this calendar year

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread
Like many I was very optimistic when I saw yesterdays line up. Palace are pony, missing their striker and right for the taking. So a good attacking line up. But what does the cunt do? The flair players are held back in defensive positions and we sit back to the surprise of even the opposition manager. Only Bowen marginally camped in the opposition half and he was largely ineffective and was far more a candidate for the hook than Benrahma.
This sort of shit is totally unacceptable and I agree with Sven, the problem is not with Scamacca; Benrahma; Paqueta, it wasn't with Anderson; Vlasic and Haller it is with Moyes. One or two fall by the wayside fair enough, but all of them, bollocks.
Yesterday's result was pure bad coaching which was partially covered up by individual errors.

Sven Roeder 4:13 Mon Nov 7
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Crystal Palace - Official Match Thread
It is coming to the point where people need to think whether its true that Haller, Anderson, Vlasic, Scamacca , Pacqueta, Benrahma etc etc are all TERRIBLE footballers or whether Mr Moyes is incapable of incorporating footballers of talent into a cohesive football team.

He seems more comfortable with the likes of Leon Osman, Fellaini, Tim Cahill
